Mere sight of your favorite food,
fruits & sweet can trigger your hunger for that particular food which is
very district from food graving. We can understand why we keep eating even
without our desire. It makes us powerless to resist the image of food.
Scientist know that the increased
levels of dopamine, the neurotransmitter linked to pleasure seeking behavior
and feelings of reward, are associated with the desire to eat. This is
practically proved that mere sight of food alone boots dopamine levels in
the dorsal striatum, a part of the brain that regulate the basic drive to
eat. It is seen that brain evolved so that when we find food, we eat it, no
matter what. It is a reflexive response to ensure that you eat enough to
survive.
In an experiment, 20 people were kept
hungry for one day. They were exposed to their favorite food, but did not
allow to eat. This was similar to food advertisement of our favorite foods.
