It is true that aerobic exercises such as jogging, cycling, swimming, etc. offer health benefits and have been promoted as effective calorie –burning and weight –reducing activities. Aerobics means “in the presence of oxygen”, that is vigorous exercise designed to increase oxygen intake. An aerobically-conditioned body can better extract fatty acids ,glucose and oxygen from the blood to improve energy supply to both the brain and the muscles . Research has claims that the aerobic exercise can increase high –density lipoproteins (the good cholesterol) in the blood, stabilize or lower blood pressure, lower resting heart rate ,build limited muscle and almost decrease the body fat levels. So it should be noted that weight training is the best bet ;it increases the metabolically active and calorie–burning muscle and slows down the effects of ageing as well.
